Burton and South Derbyshire College

Bond Bryan designed the Burton & South Derbyshire UTC Academy, specialising in Biomedical Science and Engineering. Located near Burton-upon-Trent’s transport hub, the 5,400m² facility combines new build and refurbished Town Hall Annex space.

Supported by industry partners, the UTC provides a modern learning environment for 600 students aged 14-19.

Campus Redevelopment at Slough & Langley College

Canon Medical Arena

As the UK’s first carbon-neutral community arena with an integrated medical diagnostic centre, this project embodies everything Bond Bryan stands for: innovation, sustainability, and community impact. In collaboration with key stakeholders such as Canon Medical Systems UK, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, B. Braun Sheffield Sharks, and LivingCare Group, this world-class sports facility also prioritises health and well-being for the local community.

The Canon Medical Arena not only serves as a venue for elite sports but also functions as a health hub, setting a new standard for integrated healthcare and sports infrastructure.

Capital City College King’s Cross Centre, formerly Westminster Kingsway

Don Valley Stadium

Loxley House

Bond Bryan’s sensitive refurbishment of Loxley House, a Grade II Listed building dating back to 1795, restored its Pennine Style charm.

The project converted the house into six apartments and added four mews houses, while preserving original details and enhancing the estate with landscaping and woodland restoration.

The building enhances both student numbers and engagement, with activity lasting well into the evening.

Mosborough Hall Hotel

Sceaux Gardens

A pioneering social housing estate for Southwark Council, originally developed in the mid-1950s. The project seamlessly integrates new homes with the existing ones, preserving the character of the estate and its mature landscaped gardens.

Striking a balance between the need for additional housing, the sensitivities of the conservation area, and the needs of existing residents presented a unique challenge.

Shirebrook Academy

The Edge Hotel

The Edge Hotel, a £7M four-star facility at Wivenhoe Park House, combines hospitality with education, offering students real-world experience in a modern, sustainable environment. Our design balanced historical preservation with energy-efficient systems, creating 24 adaptable suites, a garden pavilion, and public spaces.

The project allows for community engagement while enhancing academic and guest experiences.

Warwick Arts Centre at The University of Warwick

The Warwick Arts Centre stands as a pivotal cultural and educational asset within the University of Warwick’s campus, serving students, staff, and the wider community. As one of the UK’s largest multi-arts venues, it plays a vital role in the region’s cultural identity and creative ecosystem. However, the increasing limitations of its original facilities necessitated a transformative redevelopment to meet contemporary demands.

This ambitious project, forming part of the Coventry City of Culture 2021 celebrations, involved a blend of refurbishment, demolition, and new construction to create a state-of-the-art facility. Appointed during a critical stage, Bond Bryan and a multidisciplinary team were tasked with overcoming significant challenges, including tight timelines, budget constraints, and the integration of new and existing structures. Through a collaborative approach, innovative design processes, and a commitment to sustainability, the team successfully delivered a landmark venue that continues to inspire creativity and engagement.

The Kathleen Lonsdale Building

The Kathleen Lonsdale Building refurbishment project was a key element in the realisation of University College London’s Bloomsbury Campus Masterplan, transforming the building into a modern, accessible facility that unites departments within the Faculty of Maths and Physical Sciences.

Bond Bryan’s approach to the refurbishment not only enhanced functionality but also preserved the building’s historical significance, creating a facility that meets the evolving needs of both UCL’s students and academic staff.

St Dunstan’s College STEM Building

St Dunstan’s College in London underwent its most extensive redevelopment since 1888, with Bond Bryan leading the architectural design, visualisation, and contractor collaboration. This £17.5M transformation includes a new Junior School, STEM, and Sixth Form Building, blending historical sensitivity with contemporary design.

Certified BREEAM Excellent, the project integrates sustainable technologies and thoughtful spatial organisation to provide enhanced learning environments while preserving the College’s heritage. The redevelopment enhances the schools innovation and creativity, serving a co-educational community from ages 3 to 18.

Aston Fire Station

The design of Aston Fire Station was driven by a seamless fusion of the old and the new, blending the Grade II listed building’s historical features with modern operational needs. The introduction of a new extension, featuring a double-height glazed atrium, connects the historic building with contemporary spaces while offering transparency into the daily operations of the fire service.

The careful integration preserved the station’s operational functions on the ground floor, while modernising staff welfare and office spaces on the upper floors. This thoughtful reconfiguration maximises both functionality and wellbeing, making it an uplifting and efficient space that supports the fire service’s needs for years to come.
