Rui has global experience in cross-sector work, and a passion for bold design and out-of-the-box thinking.
Rui is a Chartered Architect with nearly 20 years of experience spanning high-end residential, hospitality, culture, and leisure projects. Having worked across many countries including Portugal, Spain, Angola, Brazil, and the UK, Rui brings a broad international perspective to design challenges. Known for a passionate, out-of-the-box approach, he has earned recognition through international design competitions and awards, contributing to the Pritzker Prize-winning RCR team and receiving accolades in both RIBA Regional Awards and the MSA’s.
Outside of work, Rui is a motorsports enthusiast with a particular love for adventure motorbiking and travel. Similar to his varied national experience, Rui continues to surprise us with his diverse musical taste ranging from classical and jazz to symphonic rock and metal. We’re also told Rui color codes his wardrobe, sorting by shade of black.
