Bond Bryan: B-Corp Certified

Date Aug 2026

We’re now a Certified B Corporation, independently validating our long-standing More Than Design ethos.

We're now a Certified B Corporation.

For almost 40 years, we’ve operated on the belief that our work carries a responsibility beyond the buildings we design. The decisions we make can shape communities, affect the environment, and influence people’s lives for generations. Long before we gave it a name, that belief guided how we collaborated with our clients, attracted the best staff, and formulated our processes. It became the foundation of what we now call our More Than Design ethos.

That ethos starts with understanding what really matters. Every project begins by listening, questioning and looking beyond the brief to understand the wider context and the long-term impact of every decision. It means thinking about environmental sustainability, social value, commercial reality and the experiences of people who will use our spaces not just today but also in the future.

B Corp Certification recognises this holistic approach towards people and planet. Following adherence to initiatives and policies across governance, workers, community, environment and customers, it recognises organisations that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

For our clients, certification provides independent assurance that sustainability, social value and responsible business practices are embedded in the way we work. It reinforces our commitment to creating places that deliver lasting value for the people who use them, the communities they serve and the planet.

Turning principles into practice

As the construction industry addresses the huge impact it has on the twin crisis of climate change and biodiversity loss, it’s never been more important to hold ourselves accountable for our design decisions and to help our clients navigate increasingly complex decisions, not just for now, but also into the future. That means balancing environmental ambition with commercial reality to create places that are future-resilient, achieve long-term positive outcomes and remain viable to deliver today.

This is why our More Than Design ethos includes environmental sustainability as one of the guiding principles. We consider the planet in every decision we make – be that for our business operations or our design services.

Aditi Saxena, Sustainability Lead at Bond Bryan, said:

“For us, environmental sustainability is a mindset. On projects it shapes every conversation from the earliest briefing stages through to the long-term performance of the places we create.

“We plan for future adaptability and climate resilience through the way we design and deliver projects. That’s why we developed our Project Briefing Tool, shortlisted this year for the AJ100 Climate Initiative of the Year, to engage project stakeholders at every stage of a project, helping them consider environmental performance, wellbeing, social value beyond long-term impact.”

“Our B Corp certification recognises this holistic approach to design and reinforces our commitment to support our clients in making decisions that deliver greater positive impact through their projects, - for people, wider communities as well as for the planet.”

Independent assurance for our clients

B Corp Certification provides our clients with independent assurance that responsible business practices are embedded in the way we work every day. It demonstrates that environmental responsibility, social value, good governance and long-term thinking are part of how we make decisions, collaborate with our partners and deliver projects.

For our clients, it's confidence they're working with a practice committed to creating lasting value – not just through the places we design, but through the way we run our business nurturing our staff and practicing good governance.
A collective achievement

Achieving B Corp Certification wasn’t easy. Becoming a Certified B Corporation challenged us to look closely at every aspect of our practice. It was an opportunity to refine how we work, strengthen our processes and learn from one another – an effort shaped by colleagues across every studio and discipline.

Matt Hutton, CEO at Bond Bryan, said:

“Going through the B Corp assessment challenged us to evidence what we’ve always believed as a practice and helped us identify where we can continue to improve. It’s a genuinely special moment for Bond Bryan because, as expectations of architecture continue to evolve, B Corp provides independent recognition of the way we run our business, make decisions, support our people and create lasting value for our clients, communities and the environment.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together. This certification belongs to everyone across the practice who has helped shape our culture, challenged us to do better and contributed to the kind of practice we are today.”
