This refurbishment transformed the uninviting and underutilised reception and office floor plates to a Grade A spec, along with WC’s, lift lobbies and circulation spaces. The new scheme features a warm, stylish, and welcoming reception space, with contemporary CAT-A offices above. Inspired by the medieval history of Manchester’s Spring Gardens, where natural springs once flowed, the design concept for 19 Spring Gardens centres on the theme of water. This idea is reflected prominently in the reception area and subtly throughout the building, complemented by natural elements like wood and metal. A monochrome palette with vibrant accents creates a timeless, contemporary aesthetic.
To support HR attraction and retention strategies, secure basement cycle storage and gender-neutral superloos were added, along with a reception ramp for improved accessibility. Sustainability was also a key consideration, with carefully selected UK-manufactured materials prioritising comfort and environmental impact. The revitalised building now offers spacious, flexible floor plates, attracting modern tenants while driving revenue for the client and elevating 19 Spring Gardens to compete with other prime city centre offerings.
The University of Sheffield’s £3.2m AMRC Composites Centre, spanning 2,070m², is a cutting edge facility for advanced manufacturing research. This space focuses on the development and application of composite materials for industries such as aerospace, automotive, and energy.

A central core houses WC and shower facilities, while a raised access floor and ceiling services void enable adaptable fit-outs to suit tenant requirements.
Connected to the office block, the high-bay research and development hall offers versatile space for independent use or integration with the offices. It can be subdivided to meet privacy and security needs, catering to various research activities. A nearby split-deck multi-storey car park accommodates approximately 280 vehicles, ensuring convenient access for tenants and visitors.

The Machine Hall is designed with open, flexible work bays that can accommodate different mobile equipment, supported by a comprehensive range of power and gas services. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) recognised the need to reassess its working environment to align with their Vision 2030. With the urgency of relocating following the landlord’s decision to repossess their current space, GPhC found the ideal location in the heart of Canary Wharf at 1 Cabot Square.

Alderley Park’s Mereside campus has revitalised four connected buildings—Nos. 19, 22, 23, and 24—from an outdated in-ward facing traditional laboratory block into a dynamic, outward-facing community to support scientific innovation and encourage the cross fertilisation of ideas.
The redevelopment delivers state-of-the-art labs alongside world-class office space that is flexible and adaptable to suit a broad range of tenant needs, while connecting occupants to the robust support system of the Alderley Park campus.
Volkswagen’s brief required a showroom that would combine high functionality with a strong brand presence. The compact 0.68-hectare site needed to accommodate showrooms, service areas, parking, and administration within a single footprint. We designed a four-storey structure that maximised visibility from the M4, providing space for 270 parking spaces, 26 servicing bays, and three floors showcasing 90 cars.
The innovative layout ensures a seamless customer experience, while energy-efficient technologies align with Volkswagen’s sustainability targets. Our careful planning and design solutions made the most of the limited space, providing both an attractive and efficient environment that supports Volkswagen’s brand identity.
Bond Bryan were appointed as Architects, Landscape Architects and Interior Designers for the Doncaster Gateway project, a transformative initiative forming a cornerstone of Doncaster’s Town Centre Renewal. Situated adjacent to Doncaster train station, this project reimagines the Gateway as a vibrant, sustainable public realm, shaping it into a catalyst for economic, social, and environmental regeneration.

When Berkeley Homes approached Bond Bryan to design their new office space at Royal Arsenal Riverside, we were tasked with creating a workspace that would embody the energy and ambition behind the regeneration of Woolwich.
The project involved transforming a retail unit into a dynamic office environment for their Directors and Technical Team. Through careful planning and collaboration, we were able to design a highly functional and flexible workspace that supports Berkeley Homes’ growing team while working within the constraints of an existing structure.
The next chapter in Alderley Park’s evolution is set to unfold with the delivery of two six-storey buildings, designed to support the needs of the life sciences and technology sectors while significantly enhancing the public realm.
This landmark facility will house a variety of spaces to support advanced R&D including flexible labs, collaboration spaces, and logistics hubs catered to organisations in drug discovery, MedTech, diagnostics, digital health, and AI. It will also create a new landscaped public square and north-south pedestrian throughway.
To support the growing ecosystem of the park, a commercial sciences building was commissioned, and Fairhursts were selected to provide the fit-out. Strategically designed to cater to a diverse range of science companies, the scheme offers adaptable spaces that accommodate various business scales.
Spanning from fully-equipped wet lab spaces, bench-scale and self-contained wet and dry labs, to serviced shell and core spaces for larger enterprises, the facility is poised to meet the dynamic needs of the scientific community.
