
Michie Tokiwa

With over 30 years of experience in various architectural sectors, Michie has honed her expertise in master planning, industrial, laboratory, and residential projects.
Her international career includes nine years in Japan, where she worked on large-scale residential projects, laboratories, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, and distribution centres. She also spent three years in Mongolia focusing on housing developments, specifically the regeneration of squatter settlements. After relocating to the UK, Michie contributed to laboratory, transport, HM Courts, industrial, and commercial building projects. Her design approach prioritises client and end-user satisfaction, aiming to create outstanding environments informed by her extensive experience, regulatory knowledge, and attention to technical details.
Outside of work, Michie is a Swim England-qualified Artistic Swimming Coach and National Judge. She volunteers as an artistic swimming coach in Manchester three days a week and occasionally travels to judge competitions and grading events. On non-training days, she enjoys spending time with her cat and cooking to unwind. Michie is also a former corporate slalom ski racer in Japan and loves spending time on the slopes during the winter.
