Jonathan Herbert – Managing Director

Jonathan is Bond Bryan’s Managing Director.  He is responsible for leading the development of Bond Bryan’s long-term strategy and overall performance; he also retains responsibility to our board for Bond Bryan Strategic.  He is fascinated by the idea that the built environment can be designed and fine-tuned so that it is both efficient and supportive of the mission of organisations.  A lifelong interest in Education has seen him advise Higher Education institutions and Further Education colleges (such as Glasgow School of Art and York College); he is currently Chair of the RIBA/Association of Colleges Client Forum.

Roger Newman – Associate Director

Roger is a qualified architect having joined Bond Bryan in 1998. Roger has provided the strategic lead on our most significant Further Education projects including Property Strategies that have defined Nottingham College’s new City Centre campus and Manchester College’s £100m new developments.

Roger’s core activities include: 

Acting as the “Client’s Champion”, ensuring that the designs reflect key requirements;

Options-based property strategies, invariably increasing efficiency and reducing capital/revenue costs;

Business case and grant applications for capital projects.

Steve Maslin – Associate Director

Steve is a qualified architect and has been part of the Bond Bryan team since 1998. He has led the strategic work for a number of high-profile projects including the University of Sheffield’s Faculty of Engineering £200m Development Framework and the inception brief and space case for both campuses of the National College for High Speed Rail. He is an active member of the Higher Education Design Quality Forum’s Research Group and has previously undertaken space needs planning research for government agencies in the Further Education sector.
