Kidbrooke Village
Kidbrooke Village is one of London's largest residential regeneration projects, creating an entirely new neighbourhood where landscape is fundamental to everyday life.
Kidbrooke Village is one of London’s largest regeneration projects, transforming a former RAF site into a thriving new neighbourhood of more than 5,000 homes set within an extensive network of parks, public spaces and green infrastructure. Bond Bryan has provided Landscape Architect services from RIBA Stage 3 through to completion across multiple residential phases, helping deliver landscapes that connect people with nature while supporting the wider masterplan vision.
Value
Working across a development of this scale required landscape architecture to do far more than provide amenity. The landscape establishes the setting for everyday life, creating attractive streets, communal podium gardens, play spaces and biodiverse planting that encourage movement, wellbeing and social interaction while connecting seamlessly with the wider Kidbrooke Village masterplan.
Alongside the design development, our landscape team coordinated closely with architects, engineers and the wider consultant team to integrate the landscape with changing building designs, planning amendments and complex structural requirements. Early consideration of drainage, services, ecology, wind mitigation and podium construction ensured the landscape vision remained deliverable without compromising quality. BIM Level 2 workflows and collaborative 3D coordination supported efficient decision-making throughout the project.
Impact
Across 462 homes, the landscape creates a series of connected outdoor environments that support residents throughout the day, from welcoming public realm and tree-lined streets to communal gardens and natural play spaces. Extensive planting palettes were developed to reinforce the character of the wider masterplan while delivering a high-quality, resilient landscape that responds to both ecological and operational requirements.
By combining technical coordination with thoughtful placemaking, the project demonstrates how landscape can become a defining element of large-scale residential regeneration, shaping healthier communities and creating places where people genuinely want to spend time.
Sustainability
Sustainability informed the landscape from the earliest stages of design. Ecological enhancement, resilient planting and urban greening principles were embedded throughout the proposals, while planting strategies were coordinated alongside drainage, structural requirements and wind mitigation to support long-term performance.
The result is a landscape that contributes to biodiversity, improves environmental resilience and creates greener, healthier spaces for residents, while supporting the wider sustainability ambitions of the Kidbrooke Village masterplan
