Taylor Maxwell London Showroom

Sector Retail & Hospitality
Client Taylor Maxwell

The Taylor Maxwell Showroom was conceived as a contemporary destination for architects, developers, and contractors to explore, learn, and be inspired. Designed to provide an immediate “wow factor” from the reception onwards, the space balances striking visual impact with practical functionality.

The showroom hosts product displays, training and demonstration areas, a refreshments bar, and adaptable spaces for events, meetings, and collaborative work. The design vision centred on creating an environment that sparks material inspiration while showcasing the breadth and quality of Taylor Maxwell’s products.

Value

The project delivers significant value by creating an enticing, customer-focused environment that enhances Taylor Maxwell’s client engagement. The space supports multiple modes of use—from informal networking to professional presentations—helping to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across the construction industry.

The inclusion of hot-desking and a private meeting room ensures that the showroom also functions as a working hub, adding everyday practicality to its inspirational design. Repurposed elements, such as existing furniture and joinery, further extended the value by maximising resources without compromising quality.

Impact

The new showroom has transformed how Taylor Maxwell connects with its audiences, becoming a multifunctional hub for product inspiration, training, and industry events. Interactive features, including custom displays and even branded darts boards (reflecting the client’s sponsorship of the world’s leading darts player), create memorable experiences for visitors.

The reimagined displays showcase the company’s wide product range in an engaging way, helping architects and developers make confident design choices. By elevating the visitor journey and positioning the space as both practical and inspirational, the showroom strengthens Taylor Maxwell’s brand identity and its role as a partner in design innovation.

Sustainability

Sustainability was embedded through careful material choices and reuse strategies. A standout feature is the welcome desk countertop, by Kava Surfaces, made from locally sourced coffee grounds pressed into a durable, plastic-free finish. Existing furniture and joinery were repurposed wherever possible, reducing waste and embodied carbon.

Spatial efficiency and adaptability were prioritised to extend the life of the showroom and ensure futureproofing, with flexible layouts that can evolve to meet new needs. By balancing bold design with sustainable practice, the project demonstrates how commercial interiors can be both impactful and responsible.
