Duncan Hogg
Head of Technical
Duncan has over 20 years’ experience delivering large-scale, technically complex projects across multiple sectors, specialising in design coordination, regulatory compliance and risk management.
As Head of Technical, Duncan leads Bond Bryan’s approach to design work compliance, quality assurance and technical strategy across the practice. His experience spans education, advanced research, blue light, residential, commercial and civic environments — bringing deep insight into highly serviced, regulated and safety-critical projects.
Specialising in the technical aspects of architecture, he advises clients on contract appointments, professional services at both early-stage feasibility work and technical design stage through construction to handover. Duncan’s expertise also includes authoring specifications, acting as Principal Designer for Building Regulations, and guiding clients and stakeholders through complex approval processes. His approach blends clarity, calmness and technical rigour — ensuring that risk management and regulatory responsibilities are embedded throughout every stage of design development.
As the leader of Bond Bryan’s Principal Designer service, Duncan provides industry-facing guidance on the Building Safety Act, helping clients understand and navigate their statutory duties while supporting design teams with structured coordination, documentation and compliance strategies.
Beyond project delivery, Duncan actively supports business growth, recruitment and engagement with universities, championing best practice and strengthening technical capability across all studios. His collaborative leadership style underpins our people-first culture and reinforces our commitment to safe, high-quality design.
When he’s not at work, Duncan recharges by exploring the great outdoors, enjoying music, the arts, food and travel. His personal motto:“Use your voice for kindness, your ears for compassion, and your hands for charity.”
