Bond Bryan undertook the refurbishment, remodel and upgrading of every space within the University of West London’s St Mary’s Road Campus, creating a new central ‘heartspace’ atrium, alongside a new state-of-the-art library, vibrant student union and other specialist facilities.
Working closely with the University’s Estates Team and Stakeholders, Bond Bryan were able to create an intricate sequence of phased works so that the campus could remain live throughout the demolition and construction of both old and new buildings. Bond Bryan’s stunning architectural delivery has seen the creation of a large 4 storey atrium at the heart of the campus that has become its focal point, allowing permeability – both physically and visually – into all parts of the campus.
The Engineering Heartspace represents the culmination of the Faculty of Engineering’s Development Framework at the University of Sheffield.
Through collaborative research, Bond Bryan provided a state-of-the-art building supporting the changing pedagogical needs of the faculty, within a flexible and inspiring environment.
