Bond Bryan Architects were appointed to Sheffield Hallam University’s Charles Street after winning a national design competition. Now complete, it forms the gateway development for the University’s city centre campus.
Through collaborative research, Bond Bryan provided a state-of-the-art building supporting the changing pedagogical needs of the faculty, within a flexible and inspiring environment. Utilising our specialists in space-needs analysis and briefing, we led the process, starting with visioning workshops to explore the University’s education vision. Drawing on our experience with over 100 educational institutions, and examples from around the world, these workshops tested and challenged the pre-conceptions of the type of teaching space required.
Bond Bryan created a simple and relatively deep plan building form that has maximised the limited space available for the project.
Bond Bryan fulfilled the scope of services - from inception to completion - offering full architectural services alongside interior design services, as well as guiding the scheme through an intricate planning process.
