The Advanced Manufacturing Park is located on reclaimed land adjacent to the A630 Sheffield Parkway and less than a mile from Junction 33 of the M1. Formerly the site of UK Coal’s open-cast Orgreave Colliery – made famous during the 1980’s miners’ strikes – the site now hosts an enviable list of world-renowned blue-chip organisations and has become synonymous with being at the global forefront of Advanced Manufacturing.
Bond Bryan’s specialisms in Masterplanning and industrial architecture made us the natural first choice for delivering this site’s projects and, as such, we have managed a large amount of the University of Sheffield’s projects on this site, as well as having delivered projects for private clients such as Boeing and Rolls-Royce.
The existing building is to be fully refurbished with the operational accommodation and appliance bays being retained at ground floor level.
Factory 2050 is the UK’s first fully reconfigurable assembly and component manufacturing facility for collaborative research.
