National College for High Speed Rail Shortlisted for Best Educational Building

The National College for High Speed Rail, Doncaster has been shortlisted for the “Best Educational Building” at the South Yorkshire & Humberside Building Excellence Awards, 2018.

Designed by Bond Bryan Architects, in partnership with Main Contractor, Willmott Dixon Construction, the college provides an innovative campus – located at two sites, one in Birmingham and one in Doncaster – offering 1,300 learners per year the opportunity to gain world-class skills, hands-on experience and stand-out qualifications for a career in the rail industry and HS2.

A world-class curriculum has been developed for the college – in partnership with rail and engineering businesses – ensuring that the college not only focuses on training for high speed rail, but also provides transferable skills for those working on modernising Britain’s existing infrastructure.

The LABC Regional Awards celebrate achievements within the construction industry; they reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, partnerships and individuals that “go that extra mile”.

The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, 18th April at The Forest Pines Hotel, Scunthorpe with the overall winners qualifying for the LABC Grand Finals in London.
