Bond Bryan Digital were employed by the College to develop the Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) and Asset Information Requirements (AIR). These documents were developed with the Facilities Management teams of both Nottingham City College and Nottingham Central College who were merging to form Nottingham College.
The documentation was fully developed around open standards which was imperative given the variety of authoring tools which the employed consultants intended to utilise.
The project was challenging: to bring together information from three different authoring tools and create one consistent output. In particular, this involved working with the designers to develop robust processes for information exchange and address interoperability issues.
Bond Bryan Digital have also provided and managed a Common Data Environment (CDE) using Asite, which has workflows and gateways aligned with the requirements of BS1192:2007+A2:2016.
Bond Bryan have been employed to federate models and to assess and manage coordination issues. BBD are working collaboratively alongside Morgan Sindall, Allies and Morrison and the other design team members to ensure a fully coordinated design.
The project successfully demonstrated that GRAPHISOFT ARCHICAD could create a fully-compliant COBie file. From this, a book was produced explaining the process of creating and delivering a viable COBie file.
