Pixbrook Academy New School is a brand-new school project for the Department of Education – working with Wilmott Dixon, the local authority and the Academy Trust.
The client’s brief was to provide a purpose-built school with sports and teaching facilities to the Department of Education’s design standards.
Our solution entailed a three-storey courtyard flat roof building, with single-storey elements, to the front, surrounding the entrance area.
The design will facilitate the provision of high-quality teaching, with learning and support facilities, ensuring that high aspirations, expectation and achievement are at the core of the school experience.
The existing building is to be fully refurbished with the operational accommodation and appliance bays being retained at ground floor level.
Factory 2050 is the UK’s first fully reconfigurable assembly and component manufacturing facility for collaborative research.
