Trainee BIM Manager

We have an opportunity for a trainee BIM manager to join our award-winning practice. Bond Bryan have many years’ experience developing and implementing BIM processes and protocols and are looking for a bright, engaging facilitator with the communication skills and desire necessary to help the architectural teams achieve excellence. Someone keen to learn, grow, put in the hard work and take on more responsibility.

 

ROLE

The role of the Trainee BIM Manager is to support the BIM Manager in the delivery of training to Bond Bryan staff in the effective and efficient use of BIM tools and processes in their everyday work.

The practice specialises in openBIM and interoperability and the successful candidate will have some knowledge of collaborative processes in the construction industry. The practice utilises ARCHICAD and Solibri as their primary BIM software and while working knowledge of these would be preferable, experience of other software platforms is equally valuable. Training will be provided.

Under the guidance of the BIM manager and Studio Team Leaders, the trainee BIM Manager will:

  • Maintain and deliver training to staff in Westerham as well as other locations when necessary.
  • Support users through BIM support services and troubleshooting.
  • Assist project teams to set up/manage models and deliver BIM outputs.
  • Improve consistency and quality within the applications and outputs.
  • Implement monitoring and quality assurance systems in relation to BIM delivery.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of short- and long-term training strategies and programmes to staff, through group and individual training sessions.
  • Assess the quality of BIM models and assist teams to improve quality and reliability of modelling and data outputs, both formally and informally.
  • Assist in analysing information requirements arising from national and international standards, client and project requirements from BEPs and EIRs and learn to advise staff on implementation and best practice.
  • Assist staff with training in clash detection processes using Solibri.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

  • Salary: £25k – £30k + excellent benefits package
  • Location: Westerham (Kent)
  • Position reports to: BIM Manager
  • Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following qualities:Excellent communication skills and a logical way of thinking, with an open and proactive manner.
    • Competent use of an architectural BIM software on construction projects.
    • Some awareness of model checking, validation, verification and COBie outputs.
    • Apply a methodical approach in order to achieve successful outcomes.
    • Keen to work collaboratively with staff who have a wide range of skills, experience and perspectives.
    • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and presentational skills, both written and spoken.
    • Able to explain technical issues in plain language.
    • Contribute positively to encouraging consistency.
