BIM Coordinator

Bond Bryan is an AJ100 Practice with established Studios in London, Westerham, Sheffield and Birmingham.

Due to an exciting and expanding workload, our London Studio in Clerkenwell – just a few minutes’ walk from Farringdon Station – is looking for a BIM Coordinator to join our already established, creative and growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual, with a proven track record of working on multiple projects across a variety of sectors, to join a thriving Practice with an exciting and constantly-expanding portfolio of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting project teams to deliver BIM Level 2 on live projects, including production of Models in line with BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) in response to clients’ Employer’s Information Requirements (EIRs).
  • Liaising with external consultants to ensure compliance with project BEPs and EIRs.
  • BIM model federation, validation and clash detection using rule-based model checking software – Solibri Model Checker and reporting via BIM Collab or similar.
  • Managing the Clash Detection process on projects, including attending and leading Clash Detection meetings/workshops (where necessary).
  • Managing BIM coordination workshops to assist with model navigation and quality improvement.
  • Managing  COBie Data for Project Teams to comply with BEP – assisting in checking and reporting.
  • Providing model management assistance to projects within the Studio.
  • Assisting with COBie data inputting on project models as required (given project time pressures)
  • Assisting with training the wider project teams with the understanding of BIM processes, protocols and tools.

Essential skills and behaviours:

  • Strong technical background and software skills: experience using BIM software platforms would be beneficial, either in industry or academic application.
  • Forward thinking, with an interest in technology and innovation within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrable ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated, able to take responsibility and prioritise.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to build good relationships, internally and externally.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience using BIM coordination software, Solibri Model Checker, BIM Collab and/or Autodesk Navisworks Manager.
  • Experience using Common Data Environments.
  • Experience of NBS & Uni-class classification.
  • Experience of COBie and other information exchange formats.
  • Experience of Digital Plan of Works.
  • Familiarity with working to industry modelling standards.
  • 3D modelling and visualisation; creating and editing 3D models in ArchiCAD, Autodesk Revit, 3DS Max or Sketchup, coupled with rendering and post-production.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualification in Design or BIM.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Have an understanding of BIM Protocol, Clash Detection Procedures and Clash Reporting Platforms.
  • Working knowledge of BS/PAS1192/ ISO19650.

Experience of the Clash Detection process including regular reporting.
