We are looking for an enthusiastic Associate Director-level Architect or Technologist with the drive and ambition to help us expand our Birmingham Studio. Working with our Birmingham Director and Associate Director, you will be playing a major role in our newest studio – to deliver projects and to promote, and help to expand, our West Midlands-focused studio.

Are you a self-starter, who can work well – both independently and as part of a team – to manage others to deliver a great service?
Bring your architectural technical know-how, a flair for development and your fabulous people skills to help drive this practice even further forward in Birmingham and the West Midlands. The work is varied and we are looking for a flexible team player who understands the commercial demands of the job and enjoys working with others to achieve Bond Bryan’s wider aims of continuing to grow our reputation in Birmingham.
You will be working on a range of fantastic architectural projects – from conceptual stage through to completion – using your extensive knowledge of UK standards, design and construction principles, to deliver high-quality projects. You will be joining the Bond Bryan family: a friendly crew of talented professionals who excel at designing and delivering projects and exceeding Client expectations.
You will be working closely with our Director and Associate Director – together with our team in the Sheffield Studio – to support the growth of our most recently-created Studio in Birmingham.
Develop, maintain and deliver projects with the team from the Birmingham Studio.
Act as the key point of contact at the Studio for the projects.
Support the senior team to help recruit the best new staff into the Birmingham Studio.
Support business development within the region to win projects.
Maintain close communications with the senior team.
Report progress against agreed aims and objectives for the Studio
You will take responsibility for running/working on one or more projects within the Studio under an Associate Director or Director.
Undertake client meetings – both with members of the wider team and independently.
Support the Directors and Associate Directors within the Studio to continue to grow the business.
Lead a number of people on projects as the Studio develops.
Promote design and delivery excellence, in everything we do, in alignment with Bond Bryan’s objectives.
Provide regular project and staff updates to Directors and Associate Directors.
Participate in project reviews and interviews when requested.
Assist Directors and Associate Directors, when required, on bids and events.
Display confident, competent skills in the delivery of major architectural projects.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and presentational skills – both written and spoken.
Apply a methodical approach in order to achieve successful outcomes.
Be able to identify issues and contribute to the resolution of complex situations in an open and proactive manner.
Be capable of working independently, collaboratively and communicating with other staff, within the wider practice, to benefit the growth of the Birmingham Studio.
Contribute positively to the management of change – to meet practice objectives in the West Midlands.
Be clear about priorities – communicating directly and honestly; promote understanding, invite participation and seek feedback.
Encourage creativity – stretch and develop others; value people as individuals; show respect and positive regard for others.
Be able to promote a positive image of the organisation and represent the Birmingham Studio – both internally and externally.
